Am trying to find if anyone knows of a painting we used to have in our house. I am trying to find another print of it.

It was "entitled "Christmas Eve" and I cannot remember who painting the original.

Here is description:

It is a 19th century nighttime scene with a full moon shining through a leafless tree. On the left of the picture is a large 19century-type building which looks like a large house or hotel. The windows are lighted. There is a stone or brick fence around it. In front of the building are several people dressed in heavy fur lined coats. There are both adults and children in the picture. Snow covers the ground. I also seem to remember animals in the picture, but am not sure of this.

There is an error or oversite in the painting, as although the moon is behind the tree it casts no shadow. The rest of the objects in the painting all do.

If anyone can give me the painter's name or tell me where I can find it on the internet, I will be very grateful.

And I thank you much.

Dexter T.
