Hello all
I am currently a sophomore graphic design major at Laguna College of Art and Design and I am trying to put together a piece for an art show we are putting on and I need your help! What I need and details about what I am doing are in the email below that will also be sent out at my school and to an art school in China that we are collaborating. Previous work is welcome and I will include info about you and a website that you want to be advertised, it's a free and easy way to be heard and noticed, so please participate if you can.
The entire theme of the art show we are putting on at LCAD is to say something, and as artists we express the things in a multitude of ways. The piece that I would like to submit is a book that would involve contributions from as many people as I can get combined with a significant amount of blank pages so people at the actual show can contribute themselves. What I am looking for is visual representation of what you are passionate about or what you feel about something. Your piece should express something that you are passionate about rather than something commercial. The media that you use is completely up to you it could be anything as long as it is a well put together piece (graphic design, with text, without text, photography, draw, paint, write, anything!). Pieces from other Many people will see the submissions in the book and it is a great opportunity for exposure here, also if you have a website or blog I will list it with your piece along with some other information about you. I am hoping to get as many participants from a variety of locations as possible to contrast what different people from different places have to say, and your help would be greatly appreciated. It would be a great addition to your resume and a way for people outside of your normal audience to hear what you have to say. I would also like to ask you all to forward this message to anyone you know that would be interested in this project because I would like to have a great deal of diversity in the submissions as possible.
I just realized that I didn't include a deadline for the artwork for the book so if you could include that I would like submissions by Nov 18th but since that is so soon I will accept them until the end of november, and that the earlier you submit your work to me the greater chance it will be accepted and the better spot in the book it will have.
