Hi there.  This is my first post and the sole reason forme joining the forum. I'm no artist and i don't practice art or anything like that. I did do A-level Art in college though and in 2000, as a part of the course, we visited the TATE gallery in Liverpool, England.

Whilst there, i saw a painting. It is the only painting i have ever seen that truely had an effect on me and i just looked at it and studied it for such a long time, returning to it several times during the time there. Stupidly, i didn't get the artist, or the title. I was 17 years old, and i suppose i didn't think i'd want to track it down so badly 7 years later!

The painting was of a Boeing 747 Jumbo jet flying through a mushroom cloud of flames and smoke, coming almost straight towards you, out of the canvas.  From what i remember, it was Oil on Canvas, and painted like a photograph. It was absolutely amazing, in visual effect and accuracy. A totally modern, bright colourful painting, that from only a few feet back, looked like a photograph.

So, can anybody give me any help at all about how i go about finding this painting.  Does anybody know it already? Are there website's i'd be likely to find it on, people i could ask, forums i might get help from.

Please please, any help would be appreciated. It's been on m mind for 7 years and i'd really love to find it.

Thanks,   John.

I'm amazed that over 100 people have viewed this inquiry, and no one has responded. Go online to the Liverpool TATE gallery and see if they have an e-mail address, phone number or mailing address. Contact them with your question, and wait for their response. You might even locate a graphic image at this site. Who knows, but at least you will be going to the source, and may even find out much more information than the title. Good luck, Claudia
