Ani

Hi! I took your advice Ani. Is this what you meant? I did modify this in Microsoft premium 10 though. Handling the mouse is not as relaxing at a prisma color . I do enjoy diddling with the photoshop software though.

When I originally started the leaf. I did not intend for it to be anything at all. I was just expermenting with the pencils and getting the feel of the medium. I did it from a minds eye. If I had had something to look at I would have notice what you were saying.

I do however I value that you thought enough to comment and give me your veiw. It is much appreciated. Will look forward to more of your critiquing Thank you..

Hi Johanna, I do not work with colored pencil but use soft pastels. But I had to comment that I think your latest leaf is much more realistic than the other two. Great light and dark and texture.

Hi!! this is a second time I am trying to upload this note and up to date progress on the leaf that I am working on. The first one got lost in never never land somewhere.

Just like art you can never get the same thoughts on paper as one did the first time. That must mean that the arts are always evolving.

Back to the subject at hand.

I added some background to the leaf. I am wondering if I should leave it the way it is or may add a sky with some clouds. Or anything else imaginative that would look interesting.

I have to admit that this leaf turned out more life like and the coloring is much better. This drawing just like the original is a figment of my imagination. I like to do that alot. It allows me to be more free with my creative side. I like my work to portrait a bit of reality yet lean toward being abstract or impressionistic, because then it allows my mind to dance with the creation.

Love to hear your feed back on the subject or any tips on handling color pencil.

It takes some getting used to blending and know which color to use first in pencil. because if you put to much of the wrong color you can't go over it with another that easily.

The first is done on pastal paper that has a good tooth on it. the last leaf is done on a Smooth-HeavyWeight paper. The latter works better.

Looking forward to some feedback.

Thank you Barbara
For your response.. I do agree with you.
Pastals are nice to work with. I have tried them once. They seem to blend easy and are fun to work with. A bit dusty though. Will have to try them again one day.
Pencil is nice. It seems to have a different mind set.
I have a huge problem in wanting to try to many things rather then just mastering one or two. Curiousity gets the better of me.

I am still diddling with this leaf. I desided to have a background.

This leaf and working with pencil has most certainly be an experience. I find it very  time consuming.

In this case I worked from forground to background. As I see now. I should have started with the background first as in other arts. Lesson learned.

I thought I would again let you see where I am at with his project. I have not selfed it yet.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.
