The apple looks good, but I feel the shadowing is weak. The light is very strong on both subjects and your shadow seems to light to me. Also, the shadow line or table edge(?) almost lines up with the top of the apple and it doesn't look quite right...just my opinion. Sorry, I know you just asked about the apple, huh? My bad.
I love the fact that you put the color of the apple in the canister and also the 'shaping' of both subjects is done very well!

Thanks for the comments...actually this was just a practice piece & I hadn't thought about doing anything else to it. Now I may have to reconsider.

Donna, Great colors, I see this near a open breezy window in the kitchen bright and sunny.
What is throwing me is the shadow on the apple and the edge of the crock are in line....Mike I hate to conterdict you but I think the back edge of the table is fine.
I am going to sit back and watch the next move...I am sure that you'll show us something interesting, can't wait.
