It has been along time since I have checked my post here, I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. 

I start my drawings as light as possible, slight of hand, as I get the color correct that I use either a colorless blender or last color needed to smooth out the painting filling in the sketchy areas, I hope that I helped you...just remember to start lightly.
