I started this last week I am stuck as to what sort of map I want this sitting on....Treasure,  vintage or what...need to put some thought behind this before jumping in.  9x12 colored pencil and graphite.....so far.

Rosie, this is fantastic! It transports me back in time. I see a map of oceans and seas behind it; something with cool blue colors to bring out the browns in the compass. I will watch with anticipation to see what you figure out. Knowing you, it's going to be good.

New here! Love your work, as I'm just delving into the world of colored pencils...And just where is, by your compass, the "Great Ocean Of Heineken"?

 Rosie, I find your work outstanding! I'd like to ask you a technical question: how do you manage to make so many layers withouut losing the tooth? do you fix it between them? in that case, which fixative do you use?
