The shadow in the path in the fore ground is something that came out in the scanning, not sure what caused it, didn't notice it until I look at it here. Patti

Yes, colored pencils are time consuming. I don't have that much patience but I have used colored penicils with watercolors and that takes less time.

cp isnt for the faint of heart for sure, one has to love drawing, and most times be facinated with details..
this is a very nice piece....but i think i would have to ask why no sienna
pine needle color in the ground cover?...it would have added a beautiful balance to the color of the green pines....also trunk color too...even a subtle touch of it would add a bit more balance to your palette?

Thanks for the advice I see what you mean, it makes perfect sense now.  When I did this the reference was taken in the spring and I was caught up trying to get the young light green pine needles.  Tunnel vision, I was focused on one thing and missed the other.  Patti
