Hi all!
This is my first time here...not sure if this is the right place to post this, but since it's a colored pencil forum, I thought someone might be able to help...
I've been working on a colored pencil portrait on black paper. Its been several years since I worked with colored pencil, so I'm kind of getting used to it again. The portrait was going really well, but there are a few spots where I'd built up so much color, that the pencil was starting to grind into the surface of the paper. I tried to fill it in the best I could, but its getting worse, and the black paper is showing through really bad. It's like the top surface of the paper is torn away, and I'm down into the fluffier middle of the paper. I can't get my pencil to stick to it!
Does anyone know how I can "fill in" or otherwise fix the paper surface?? This is in hilight areas, so I need them to be quite light. I tried a dab of white out, but that was way too white, and the pencil just scraped it back off anyways. Waaaaahhhh!!! |
