| This is a CP piece I did this afternoon. These eyeglasses belonged to a child who was born with very poor vision and died when she was very young. Her name was Stella and she was my mother's sister.
The glasses are very small and delicate and it amazes me that they have survived almost ninety years.
It's done on gray matboard.
Comments are welcome. |

Ron, Your work is also delicate. Beautifully done. Knowing the story this sort of painting tugs at the heart strings, left behind and noone to wear them. |

| Nicely done Ron, and the history certainly does make it quite a special work. |

Thank you Heather and Myrn for your comments. I believe doing any subject that has a special meaning to you compels you to try a little harder to make it something special. At least, to yourself, and hopefully to others. |

Thank you, OWS. You know, that might be a good suggestion for the June "paint-off". To paint or draw an item that has sentimental value to the artist. I think I'll e-mail that suggestion. |

| Ron, I never realized before just how wonderful CP can be. (Personally, I don't think I have enough patience. Or maybe I just don't know how.) Anyway, I come to this CP section of the forum just to look for your paintings/drawings. As usual, this one is very good. I think it would be nice to mat and frame this piece with a little card printed with the history you gave us about Stella. I can still visualize Don Knotts and your gun and flag in my head. You do wonderful work. I hope your feeling much better. |

Ron, I also like the idea of meaningful memorabilia for June. I think the artists here would create some wonderful paintings! |
