Hi everybody!  This is a piece that I did on Stonehenge with Prismacolors.  I met the man who invented Stonehenge at an Art Supply Convention!  When I showed him some photos of my work he asked if I would send him a CP Painting for Permanent Display in their Corporate Offices!  Well, who wouldn't want to have that honor! So I did this piece and sent to him.  He liked it!!!  Hope everybody else does too!

Wow. This is beautifully done. Love the detail and values in the leaves, and the purple in the shadows of the petals. No wonder he liked this. Congratulations on the exposure this will give you. Does Stonehenge have tinted papers? Sometimes I think that work like this would be enhanced on a lightly tinted paper. Just my opinion though.

That's a nice idea Heather.....I would love this on a very light pastel yellow or pink paper. Jean, your detail work is wonderful. I love the work on the leaves!

This is very nice! And congratulations on having a painting hanging in their corporate office. That is wonderful. I agree with Heather about the tinge of color in the leaves. The whole thing is just beautiful. Gene

Jean, I know I'm late in replying but there are so many topics to check out!! You are a very gifted artist. I really enjoyed this painting. it reminds me of the wild roses on the road to our cotage. I also enjoyed 'left on the doorstep' and your leaf study.

Thank you Raech!  So glad you like my paintings!  It's always nic e to hear from a fellow artist!

Hi Heatherm!  Sorry I didn't aswer your question about colors of Stonehenge Papers.  They only have a limited selection of colors!  Just White, Off white, Grey, Black and one other , not sure what it is, it's a light Beige!  No pretty colors though!  Nothing  in yellows or blues or greens.  Most people use the white!  I have used the grey and the beige color.

Hello Myrna!  Nice to hear from you!  This was a fun painting to do!  Botanicals are nice becuase you don't need to worry about a background, they can just stand alone!

the least they could have done was offer you some samples of paper in exchange for your work....you werent eh....compensated for the work? i understand that its a thrill to have your work there....but...you should be getting a bit more out of donating a piece!...hopefully they at least have your personal reference and website where more of your work can be seen up beside the painting? a bio?????

oh yea jean!...thats grand that you got some paper!...and again congratulations!...
these roses remind me a lil of our ~beach plums~..very similar and grow wild near the shoreline here and everywhere....they make beach plum jelly out of the smallish fruits...
