Here is a painting of the sunset over Lake Chapala  after a storm in Mexico, where I live. It is painted in pastels on a prepared board. This painting is 36" x 24".

How do you get permission to upload an image?

It's not easy to see how to upload a picture. Not like other forums.

Trying to enter a recent painting: Falls, West Fork of Yaak River, Montana, 48x36", Acrylic.

Ah!!! "Message Attachments" = Insert Image. It's never easy.

Hi, I'm enjoying everyone's work! Here is a recent painting of Denali Park in watercolor and gouache...it's about 14 x 20.

When you hit reply there is a place to add an attachment. I looked all over for this also.

Well, I just joined these forums and am going to try to post 2 pictures. They are a pair of watercolors I did from some photos of a monastery in Ukraine. I took the photos from a moving train as we passed by.

I hope I can get them to post!

Well, my "permissions do not allow me to upload images." Any idea how to get permission to upload images?

Hello artists,

This is my first post to this forum. I am a painter/illustrator/designer living in beautiful Winter Park, Colorado. In June my husband and I spent two weeks in Europe: the first week in Greece, and the second in Italy. Here are 2 watercolors I did while staying in the Cycladic greek island of Sifnos.

Watercolor (2 hours), 7"x10.25", Arches hot press watercolor block

Click on the images to see them larger. And please check out my Flickr collections to see more travel sketches from my moleskin, as well as photos from Greece and Italy.

I am still working on a painting I started in plein air while in Tuscany, hopefully I can get it done before this challenge expires!

Thanks for viewing! Nice work everyone.

Leslie, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to post images. Want to try again?

Kate, how did you post images of the interior of your sketchbook? Did you scan the book?

Okay, I'll try again.   These are both paintings of the same monastery in Ukraine. We were on a train that passed by the mountain on one side and again on the other, so it was twilight and then sunset. A beautiful location!

Yes, I scanned the book--and got rid of the ugly scanner background in photoshop. It's a tiny book, 10" x 3" when fully opened, so it fits on the scanner.

As for posting, I didn't upload the photos, I hot-linked to them.

Looks like Leslie has had better luck this time around--nice paintings, Leslie!

Thank you, Kate! I love your paintings of the Greek island! I always bring my painting things with me when we travel, but I'm usually too busy to paint. Hence my paintings are always from photos I took while traveling.

Hot-linking is something else I have no idea how to do... but I'm happy to have been able to upload.

Okay, another newby question: how does one achieve a signature? I tried putting my name with a link to my website and it didn't appear in either post. Thanks!

i had a lot of trouble with this, also.  i'm going to try and upload my painting again.  it is a "memoryscape" of my trip to NewGrange in ireland... a place that has had such a strong influence on me, i've been doing a series of paintings.  this one is #5 in the series.

Leslie,

You can set your signature up in your profile. Look at the top of this page and find "My Profile" in the top left with all this:
Artists Network
Unanswered Not Read My Forums Active Topics Forums My Profile Search Members

There is an area to create a signature in there.

I usually paint from photos, being an illustrator, but I have beent trying very hard to do more in plein air. I had big ambitions to come home from europe with at least 5-10 new paintings, but I did these two and started a third. Too much too do on vacation!

Thanks for the compliments, I love the simplicity and clean colors in yours.

Thank you, Kate! I think I've done it. This post will be the test.
I've been trying to do more plein air, too, and just like you, I'll bring my stuff with the best intentions, but there is just too much to do and see on vacation to stop long enough to paint. Especially with my husband and ten-year-old son...

Hi Friends,

Sorry I haven't been responding.  There are so many new members!  Just wanted to say hello.  I was away in New Mexico with no internet, tv, radio etc.  It was heavenly.  I did a lot of plein air and here is one.  I wanted to get this in before August 1.

"Mora" - Oil on Board - 12" x 9"

Hope you like it.

Only a couple of days left to post! Just a reminder that the forum closes August 1 (as if you needed a reminder).
By the way, I'm thinking the next prompt will be to draw/paint/whatever from a photo of my choosing. Any last-minute thoughts?
Leslie, I'm so glad you were able to post your art.
