Hi All:
Once again, I'm surprised and delighted with the quality (and quantity) of work that's being posted in the Paint-offs. Great job!
Don't forget that there's only a couple weeks left to post a landscape here, as this prompt closes August 1.
If anyone has an idea for the next Paint-off prompt, shoot me an email here.
Thanks,
Lisa |

| Very nice--colourful and well done paintings. I am impressed. Dale, Sandeep, Retha. I like your plein air Judith, nice dark areas in the tree. Wow Jim, I get the night-time feel of the lights and movement. |

Hi
Just completed this watercolor yesterday. Have also posted it on the Watercolor & Gouache Forum Gallery. So hope it is valid to post it again here.

This is pastel on Wallis sanded paper with watercolor underpainting done in about 45 minutes en plein air. I didn't have to go far--just to the next county over. A rancher and his wife purchased it. Size is about 8x8".

Nice one. Could have more contrast perhaps. Maybe brighter leaves. (just my thought) Sandeep |

These little houses are in a village about 35 miles from my house.. It was a wild and crazy gold rush town. Now it is very quiet and home to about 50 people, mostly ranchers.. |

Hi Retha
Nice painting.. Good choice of colors.
One small suggestion;
The tree trunks are bright and sunny on the right side.
Maybe you could brighten the leaves on that side too.
This should create a center of interest |

"Nunnie's Garden" was my Grandmother's sanctuary on my Great Grandmother's property which was called Wanderwalk. It was in the Catskill Mountains in New York State. It was sold, and I haven't been there in about 40 years, but I spent many peaceful hours there as a child. I painted it with acrylics on a 9x12 inch canvas, partly from a 65 year old black and white photo, and partly from memory. The photo had people in it who obscured much of the background.

| Thanks guys! My favorite thing is to create these places... I actually go there, and see the cliffs and light on the trees and space between the pines and the cold that comes when the sun goes down... fun! |

| OK, one more before this forum is closed. This is another in the Mt. Rainier series. This was on the Longmire trail too. I call it "Nurse Log". |

| Here's a painting, "High Tide at Spring Bay," of Virgin Gorda, where it's always summer. It's a watercolor, 18" x 24". Enjoy! |

Here is a painting of the sunset over Lake Chapala after a storm in Mexico, where I live. It is painted in pastels on a prepared board. This painting is 36" x 24". |
