Thanks, Johanna. I know about "to do" lists (and lists), but I decided to put drawing on one of the lists. It's hard, but even a few strokes a day may not amount to much by themselves, but overtime accomplish a lot. Hope you get some art time soon. TS

This piece is awesome. I like the way the flower has a smooth flow to the curvature, yet is blends into the background smoothly.

TS and Jim - Both wonderful works.

TS I too would love to see this in pastel.
Jim - all of your paintings have such a soft flow, you must really know how to handle your brush. Lovely.

Hi TS, Lori, and Retha,
Thanks so much for the kind words.
Lori, this is done in pastels. No brushes, just pastel sticks
and your fingers for blending. Can get messy, but it's worth it.

Jim.............the mess is definitely worth it for you. This is awsome, and the fact that you can get these results with a pastel stick just amazes me.

I just found this site this evening and I am excited about the paintings-they are inspirational. I was fortunate to visit Langford Canal State Park today and photograph the rare spider lilies that bloom at this time of year. I hope to have a painting before the end of the week so that I can get feedback on my flower art.

I thought I would add two recent works to this topic. They are very different... This one is a still life.(14"x12")..

Looks like everyone is having fun doing what they are doing!

This is the second one. It is a garden scene in my neighborhood (16"x14").

They are both oils.

It continues to inspire me when I see the variety of responses to topics and ideas here in the forum and all around us.
