Hi all:
I was gone the whole month of Aug. and part of Sept. doing a drive trip to visit our son and his family. We returned in mid Sept. and I promptly went to have cataract surgery for both eyes on Sept.19th and 26th. Almost miss the paint-off, but in between the prepping and recuperation time, I managed to sneak in painting time intermittenly and with one eye close at a time about 8 hours altogether and had the painting done on time. I am sending it in, in the spirit of participation.
This painting is based on a story I have written, inspired by "The Garden Angel" :-
"Once upon a time, there was a mommy angel who had a little angel whom she loved very much. One day, mommy angel had to go do her angelic duty in a faraway land. She could not bring her little angel with her because he had not sprouted his wings yet. So she decided to leave him in a garden. But this garden is vast and she was afraid he might get lost so she turned him into stone, thus containing him in one area. He was allowed power to call flowers and leaves to come to him and he could place them in any area within the garden by his mind power. This was how he passed his time in the garden.
When mommy angel finished her assigned duty, she flew back home surrounded by clouds. When the little angel in the garden saw her, he was very happy and slowly returning to life -The end! "
