Wow! Beautiful works, Kim, Myrna, Bert, Burt, Jim, Griff, and Zorba.

Well here is mine. I didn't go to far to paint this one. This is a plein air painting of Red Rock Canyon in Oklahoma. It is watercolor 10 9/10 x 15 inches. I was having trouble deciding between two paintings. The other painting is of an Oklahoma sunset after a storm. We have had a very wet spring and looks like the beginning of summer will be wet as well. Maybe I'll post the sunset in the watercolor forum.

I look forward to seeing more works.

Hola from mexico

This painting was done on site in a little pueblo called El Triunfo.

The town was a gold-rush in the 1840's.. A huge chimney and this bridge still stand along with many ruined and re-constructed houses.

El Triunfo is one of my favorite painting and sketchiing spots and is only an hour's drive from my home.

I hope you like my painting.

Hello all.  I figured it out thanks to Lisa and I am ready to post.

Drifting Into Nightfall

Oil on Board

24" x 24"

This painting is imagined.  I also do plein air painting but when it gets hot outside in the desert, I resort to painting indoors where there is air conditioning!  I will probably post a few more but this is my first.  I hope you like it.

Hello!  I am new here, well, sort of, I've been around but only just registered Anyway, I just finished this one, it is 24" x 30" acrylic from a photo I took on my trip to Hawaii; this was taken on Oahu toward the north shore.  Thanks!

I finished this painting this morning, sunrise from down the street from me.  This solitary gentleman walked through as I was sitting in the wet sand taking photographs, didn't even see me.  So I call it "Solitary Sunrise".  It is 8"x10" medium is oil.

Oh, the reason I painted this one is because I can't go on vacation anymore, so my immediate surroundings is my vacation...

Dear Lisa:

When is the closing date for submitting our paintings for "Lands Unpainted"? I thought I saw it somewhere but not in your posting above. I started my painting last week after joining the forums and happened to open up this forum. It will take me awhile to finish due to other life obligations.

Hi Sandi, Ooops! I thought I'd posted the cut off date, but apparently not. The paint-off will be closed August 1, so you have until then to post your work.

P.S. I'll be on vacation June 22-28, so if anyone has questions during that time, please E-mail one of the other administrators or check out our FAQs.

Judith, you captured the beauty of New Mexico very well (what part of NM?). Nice colors. I really like your style.

Hi Kim,
Thank you for the compliment. This painting was done northeast of Santa Fe. I added the water....it was actually a wash and I thought....hmmmm, there should be water there!

Medina Gate was done after a wildly inspiring trip to Morocco in 2005. It is a pastel, 14 x 11".
