This is a 6 x 11 watercolor. I used cadmium red & phthalo turquoise. I painted from a photo that I took at the end of Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park.

| I have used just 2 colors orange and blue. The white is the color of the texture. |

I love it - it's gorgeous.
I have a question: how did you get it to post so large? Mine looks very small, & I've tried a few things to get it to post larger, with no luck.

Hi, Karen,
Hope you don't mind my jumping in to answer your question. When you size your image, set the dpi on 72 dpi and the largest dimension on 5 or 6 inches. That should give you an image that looks larger but is still small enough digitally to be loaded on the forum.

| This is a 7”x7” watercolour on rough paper, using raw sienna and cobalt blue. It is entitled “Goldfish bowl”.
I have never entered an art competition before and am not sure why I have now, except that the two-hue restriction is intriguing and seemed to remove the negative aspect of competitive art, converting it into a group exploration.
I have enjoyed looking at the individual paintings, so different yet united by colour.

All the paintings are so unique and wonderful I don't know how any one can chose a winner. They're all great. Kathy |

| "Outrigger" is 4" x 6" painted with Da Vinci watercolor: French Ultramarine and Quinacridone Burnt Orange on Lanaquarelle cold press 140lb watercolor paper. I used a reference posted by crispur2005 on WetCanvas.com. Like most of my Asian-influenced watercolors, this took meditating to put myself into a light trance. When I wasn't even thinking in words any more, I picked up the brush and began moving, painting, just focusing until the painting took on a life of its own. |

This is my first time posting a painting. So I'm not really sure how to. Can someone walk me thru it? Thanks |

Ok. I think I figured it out. This is an oil, 16 x 20 of a photo I had take while on a trip to the San Juan Islands. I used cadmium orange, phthalo blue and titanium white. I loved this challenge as it got me painting again. I moved to another state, missed my art friends and just couldn't seem to get motivated to paint. Thank you. I plan on doing more of these challenges!

Hi,
I was inspired by the chanlenge and recently finished this painting. I used only Windsor Orange and Windsor Blue. It was a bit of a challenge to create the colour combinations but it was possible. I loved doing the painting. Please advise if this painting is elligible for the contest.
Sincerly,

Sorry, I should have mentioned that my painting is done with watercolor on 9x12 140 pounds Archer cold press paper. It took me two days to complete and only Windsor Blue and Windsor Orange were used.

| Hi, This is my first time. I cut fresh day lilies from my yard for my painting. I had to complete it in one day because the flowers only last that long.
Still Life with Orange Day Lilies
8x12 Oil on Canvas
I used Rembrandt Cadmium Orange, Ultramarine Blue and Titanium White. |

| Hi, Karen,
Thanks for appreciating my work.
I did the same as Holly guided you . Just one thing more - I reduced the quality - from 10 to 9. That really helped in keeping up with the size.
Try it . It might help.

tinasiddiqui contacted me before the deadline for entering because she had trouble loading her wet pastel. I agreed to help her load it if she could get it to me today, so here it is—Jazzy Pat (wet pastels, 22x28). Colors: cobalt blue, ultramarine blue, Payne's grey and cadmium yellow deep

Dear Holly:
I was wondering how do we find out who is the winner of the Challenge #14 or any other media on this website?
Thank you for a reply if possible.
Sincerely

Hi Proz. For the Challenge # 14 - this thread will change (I'm surprised it isn't locked now) - and they will give us a link to vote for one of the 3 (or 4) finalists that the editors choose from all the submissions. Once that is done, they will post a new thread of the winner for that challenge. Just check the various threads in the All-Media Paint-Off section, you'll see a separate thread announcing each winner. Hope that helps you. Nancie

| I don't know why there wasn't a separate post for the winner done (usually there is), but the emailed newsletter announced that Eiren with "Lake Mist Rising" was the winner. |
