Hello everyone! this is my first time at these challenges so I hope to post my work properly
This is a drawing on Canson Mi Teintes Indigo Blue paper, I used these colors: Gold Ochre, Cream, Light Orange, Canary Yellow, Delft Blue, White , Ultramarine Light and Bluish Turquoise color pencils (Lyra Rembrandt and Faber Castell A. Durer)
It is 13,8 x 19,7 in. and I name it "Chained". I used very few shades of both colors, I think it applies well to the rules. Do you agree?

Hi, Ani,
Thank you for posting your colored pencil work.
Colored pencil is a tough medium for this challenge! Still, to be true to the rules, I have to say you that used too many colors. You've probably noticed that lots of people have posted art that used more than the allowed two or three colors, and we enjoy seeing all these works, including yours. But to be eligible to win, the artist may use only one blue, one orange, and perhaps one white.
Perhaps you'd like to enter another work. We'd be happy to see it.

| Hi, all! I haven't visited for a while. There are a lot of new paintings entered in this contest. Isn't it amazing what can be done with blue and orange! Susan Bertke |

| Well, I managed to redo my original painting of the orange sunflower so that it used only one of each color: Cad Orange, Prussian Blue and Titanium White. This was a double challenge! First, to use the simple palette and second, to recreate a painting I've already done! Acrylic on canvas sheet, 9 x 12.

Nan, it is interesting to see how the green changed with the different orange and blue. Two great paintings.

ok, don´t worry, Holly, thanks anyway. I know it's tough to do this in pencil, I just misunderstood it a little. I did this specially for the challenge, but maybe I can come up with another piece before it ends. It's been interesting, but next time I'll choose a smaller size and a different medium. What can I say, you can always learn something... |

Title: Prince Charming
Size: Approx 30" x 20"
Materials: Fabric Dye on Cotton Tee
Colours: Persian Blue,Orange on White cotton fabric
This is my second entry.I love this challenge and after submitting my first one I feel I have yet to keep trying to experiment with these two colors.I notice that on cotton fabric,my colour mix of persian blue, orange and different amount of water brings out many other colours.Notice the light purple and greys. Its simply amazing!I'll surely keep on trying new stuff until the last closing day.Thanks. |

| This challenge was a stroke of genius! It was a relaxing departure from the usual full pallet and I really enjoyed it. I used an old tube of Bocour Cadmium Orange found in the back of my paint drawer, a favorite blue I current use all the time Holbein's Blue Black (a friendly greyed neutral blue), and lastly Shiva's Ultra White. The title of this composition is "Apricots and Creamer on Blue Plaid", and it's dimensions are 5" x 7", oil on gessoboard. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it. |

"Point Lobos in two colors"
approx 8x11 on arches 140 lb hot press.
This is mixed media with watercolor Brilliant Orange (Holbein) and Phthalo Blue (Cotman) and some titanium white gouache. I had a lot of fun considering this challenge and was surprised by the wide palette available with just two colors.
Sincerely,
Kristi

Hi Holly, I would like to post my artwork for the limited pallet of blue and orange. I tried to post this earlier and it didn't seem to work. Let me know if I am posting this correctly. I have chosen Grumbacker ultramarine blue and viridian orange for my pallet colors. The dimensions are 14 x 11 inches without the matting and frame.
I have chosen to express the soft echo-shadowing effect of the room light on the aged oranges that give my painting its character while the soft dishtowel in the background portrays their washed freshness.
This is my first online entry so let me know what you think.
Sincerely, Paulette Roz |
