Hi!  This is called "Desert Bloom" and it is a 12X24" oil on gesso board.  It is of a type of cactus we have in our cactus garden.  They are called "Libivia", and they bloom in the summer.  They really have the most amazing blooms.  In the heat of the summer the blooms only last a few hours. -Krista

This is the first time I've ever seen vegetable flowers set up to be admired. And why not, many vegies have lovely flowers. A very nice presentation.

The name of my painting of two apples is "Simply, Two Apples". I inadvertently forgot to include that in my submission on Page 2.   Thanks. Gene

I have been trying to enter the contest for a week and tried many options to reduce the photo of my submission but it still comes back as too large.  I have it saved on my computer and also on my digital camera which i have plugged in this morning and made a last effort.  Now time is running out.  What am I doing wrong?  I have changed the size to the smallest indicated on My Pictures.  It wasn't my finest work but it certainly says "summer".  I'll try the next contest.    Thanks, Mary Ann

I'm very sorry you had such a frustrating experience posting your art. You might find these two posts in the FAQs forum useful:

Resize image: http://forum.artistsnetwork.com/Home/tabid/53/forumid/16/postid/363/view/topic/Default.aspx

Remember to save your image as a .jpg or .giff. Also, although the image must be not more than 100 kb (set at 98 to be safe), you can check "constrain proportions" and "resample image" on your image editing software and set the longest dimension at four or five inches. This should give you a nice size image on the forum.
