Hi, charl,

You're not doing anything wrong. Each new post goes right after the last post that had been entered. Just remember to address the user, and, hopefully, that person will find your comment. It's just the way the forum works.

Keep posting!

Charl, Thank you for your comments, It means a lot because I really like your still life, especially the treatment of the flowers--they're really beautiful. I have never posted anything ever anywhere. This is all new to me, but I hope to show a lot more of my work somewhere someplace. Ryan

Summer Zinnia's, 12 x 12, watercolor

Zinnia's are one of my favorite summer flowers.  Love to cut and bring them into my kitchen to enjoy their wonderful color.

Caroline,  Wow! Such  vibrant colors!   It's beautiful.   I have zinnias in my garden.  The butterflies love them too.           Charl

Hi Charl,

This is my first time to post so hope it's correct.  Thanks for the comment.  I'm a big fan of color as you'll see as I post different things.  This is a great way to share and communicate with other artists.

Kim - I love your pear drawings in charcoal.  So simple and yet so elegant.

I really like the monochrome oil you did. I have recently been thinking about painting the four seasons in monochrome for a change of pace. maybe  12 x 12 and put the 4 canvases in floating frames.

"Cape May Chairs" speaks of summer to me. This is a watercolor on Arches 140# paper. 16"x20". Enjoy!

The first post and entry from a computer-challenged individual!  Painting is an acrylic on 30" x 24" canvas, entitled "Dorothy's Basket".  This is summer to me: a full basket of produce grown from my own garden and of my own labor...bursting with flavor and color,I  feel healthy just looking at it!  With the fragrance of phlox drifting in the breeze...ah! Summer!  The collapsible vintage market basket was my neighbor Dorothy's, who has since passed over...a fine remembrance of her and a prayer for her everytime I use it.  Mary

Hello,
Here is my summer still life for the challenge. It is called 'Auvergne Memories II'. It is oil on canvas, 16 x 20 inches. The small pot is a memento I brought back from France. The sunflowers were from my garden and reminded me of the fields of sunflowers all over the Auvergne. The blue and white vase is like one that was in the house we stayed in. I have been painting in oils for just about two years and really enjoy them. I hope you like this still life.

I love the two still lifes done by EBurns.  The colours and tones are wonderful. Very well done,

We grow zucinni (sp?) every summer and though I don't really like eating them, I love putting the blossoms in my quesadillas!  yummy!

After working in the hot summer sun it is nice to enjoy a glass of cool lemon aid. This is a pastel painting on acid free pastel paper. 12x16
