My version of the "Garden Angel" has wings. This is the story of how it comes to life and fosters new growth. Hope you like it. It's 18 X 24, oil on canvas

VikingWife,
Did you want me to take down one of the three images you posted? I can also edit the text of a post.

Thanks Lisa! That would be great if you could remove my 1st two posts.

This is my first time entering; I put the angel in a garden setting. He's done in pastel on Ersta 500 sandpaper, 10-1/2" square.

Kim,

I just love your entry. You definitely have a lot of creativity stored up in your head. You inspired me to try this one for myself. I am brand new to this forum and I think I will enjoy looking at all the different works there are out there. Keep posting, you have a gift that needs sharing.

16" x 20" oil painting.  I turned the garden angel into a water sprite.

Where can I find the info on how to post my painting in this all-medial paint off?

Gourdhead, your kind words came at a very good time (I felt very discouraged over the weekend regarding all of my artwork in general.)  Thank you very much.

And welcome to this forum.  Since I didn't see a post from you, does this mean that you're working on your entry?  Isn't it amazing the beautiful works here?  If you did try posting, please try again.

Steve, try scrolling down to the bottom of this page and click on "Add Reply".  Then type in accordingly and then move a little further down and click on the "Browse" button to find your piece, whether it's located on your hard drive or other drive.  When you've located it, click on the file to be attached.  Scroll down again and then click on "Submit".  I think that should do it.

11X14 pastel on Richison paper.  This is the first time I have used this paper and it worked very well.  I used Nupastel and Unison pastels.

Hey guys,
I'm so impressed by the dynamite pictures everyone's been posting. I know this was a difficult challenge. Just a reminder that this painting prompt ends on October 1, so get those pics posted soon!

Also, I'm wondering what other ideas you might have for the next painting prompt.
Would you like to see another challenge to paint from a photo. Should we pick a theme?
Let me know at TAMedit@fwpubs.com!

All best,
Lis

I happened upon this forum just as the Garden Angel challenge was starting. Thanks for the opportunity to try something new.  This  14" X 18" painting is done in acrylic.  I look forward to the next challenge.

I've renamed my painting as it appears that a subsequent painting with the same title replaced mine.

There is some awesome work being submitted.  I've enjoyed watching daily for new postings.

Hi all, I have been very busy and away from the forum for a bit but here is my 16x20" acrylic painting timed to 45 minutes as a challenge.

Hi, this is my first contribution to the forums.  I am taking lessons in watercolor, and thought the Paint-off was a good opportunity for a painting excercise.  The original is an 8x10 watercolor on Arches 140 lb. cold press.  I appreciate any and all constructive comments.  I have enjoyed seeing the great work done by all the other talented artists here, and look forward to seeing and contributing more.

Thanks....

Thank you, Nanci. I like the idea of your 45 minute challenge. I have previously done pencil and pen&ink work with much "fussing". One of the reasons I chose to learn to paint watercolors was the "loosey goosey" aspect of the medium. But I still find myself doing detail work. Do you think I would benefit from some timed exercises in watercolor?
