I really like the colors and the subject. It must have been fun to do.

I was up to this place a few weeks ago and took a photo from this little park. This is my first try at acrylic, oil, and pen. It was fun, but a little scary.

This is a palette knife oil painting of Pine St. in downtown Seattle. It's 16 X 24 on masonite.

It's from a photo.

Steentjie

You are so right, your painting does have the feel of the Northern Transvaal (not sure if it is still called that).

I like it very much.

Retha

Beautiful colors and a nice composition.

Kind of dreamy.  How do you prepare the paper?

Is it a special paper ?

Hi Everyone,
I have been away in San Diego and just got back.  Before I left I made a few small plein air paintings.  This is one of them.

Hi all!

Here is one I just finished.

After living in Colorado for over 30 years, the mountains are in my blood. This painting is comprised of two separate mountains: one is with a lake and rows of pine trees, the other one is very barren. I joined the two together and added my own imaginations i.e. the road up to the top of the mountain and the rock mound at the base of same mountain on the right. Also the bushes, the Aspen grove with the golden leaves, the wild flowers and the animal track at the foreground. The track is for the animals to go get a drink from the lake.

I imagined there was some sort of animals..perhaps it's a black bear..or it's a pronghorn deer, that was just there on the track and has just left, leaving the grass trampled and matted.

Did you see it? And which way did it go?

Acrylic on canvas, 16"X20"

AMISH BARNRAISING
21 x 14, transparent watercolor, Arches 140# CP paper
This is a painting of an Amish Barnraising in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  In this farming community, friends and neighbors cooperate to build a barn, usually in one day.  It's organized confusion, sort of a holiday, and a wonderful example of the helpful spirit of this community.
