I just finished this last night, maybe I will work on it a bit more, what do you think? I call it "Unsettled Weather Today", it is 14" x 12"  acrylic on canvas. Even though this is near my house, when I go to this place at Rebecca Spit Provincial Park on Quadra Island in BC, I can see for miles and it takes me away...

Hi Nanci,

I can feel that brooding weather and hear the crash of the waves.  It's great.

Zorba ... What a beautiful painting! You made this junk pile into something special. If we could all see through the artist's eyes!

thanks for the comments! It isn't really a pile of junk-it is all driftwood and seaweed on a gravel beach. Or is that what you meant, l'Artiste-Poet?

Hi, Zorba, About that "pile of junk" ... No, I was talking about the pile of cars in Baja. Did I get the wrong artist?
l"Artiste-poete

PS I can't get the reply box to open and accept text, so I have to do the quick reply. I hope you get this.

Hey, firesign, I was talking to Zorba "about that pile of junk"..about the pile of wrecked cars in Baja California - Not about your lovely driftwood.
Problem is that I can't post anything anywhere except in the"quick reply" box because the "reply" option will not let me enter text, photos, or anything! So I guess the messages don't look as if they are directed right to the person. I did start my message with "Zorba"....however.

to LWurster, moderator: Hope you find this. I would like to post something but the "reply" will not allow me to enter text or images. I'm using "quick reply" for a couple of messages, but as for the rest, I GIVE UP!
any suggestions?

The secret of the reply is to hit "normal" under "paragraph" and it lets you post. Weird, huh, otherwise it freezes.

Sorry l'Artiste, I wasn't really paying attention I guess.

Hola l"artiste

Glad you like my junk cars..

I drove by the spot yesterday and they are all gone.

So, my little painting becomes a historical document..

Iike you said,, only an artist would even stop long enough to take a photo.

This part of Mexico is so beautiful that I sometimes get over loaded. That's when old cars and street dogs become models..

Cool!  I like the idea that it is a "historical document".  Yes, not just this, but your other works, are very nice.  I like your use of my favorite medium: watercolor. My work is still too structured for my personal painting goals - comes from a background in scientific illustration. I must practice ....

Will wonders never cease...thanks for the tip RE posting. Who would have thought - certainly not me.  I'm inspired to try to post again. Had given up.

Thanks, Firesign!

OK, now I've got it.  click "normal" and all is right again. So here is my "vacation" painting.  Must say that I have not been on a vacation for over 25 years!  And so, each year, I go out kayaking on Whiskeytown Lake (N.Calif Ntl. Park) - it's a free ranger-guided outing of three hours or more.  For me, this is vacation - and I love it!  Took some photos and I liked the reflections and dead branches in this one, so decided to paint it - simple but fun to do.

It's called  "Time to Reflect"

L'artiste - Your painting looks good.  I love the reflections and the corkscrewed branches.

That's a nice thing to say, firesign. I guess I 'was there' when I painted it.

'preciate the comment.  I like the  ocean in your 'pile of (not junk) driftwood - looks inviting, storm and all.
