JM, Your picture is so inviting, the flowers and the watering can evoke such a relaxed peasceful image. I feel I'm drawn into your garden to sit and paint some flowers of my own. I will try and complete something new and post it here ( I have yet to post any of my work, I am still building up my courage, but your painting has so inspired me).

Thank you

These painting are sooo beautiful. I wish I had been able to participate, maybe next time. I had other commitments that couldn't wait. Congratulations everyone on such talented works.

Hi: great to see some very gorgeous work. Here is mine-I went to a friend's garden yesterday. Acrylic on canvas only 8x10". I am working on a series that will make a larger painting.

Hi,
I just found this forum today and happened to paint some flowers on my desk yesterday, purely as an exercise. I have only been involved in making art for the last 2-3 years, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. This acrylic is approx 8 x 11, and I worked on it for somewhere around an hour, maybe two. Not technically so wonderful, but I'm hoping for comments to help me understand my own work. Thanks so much, Joy Nguyen

Aruna, this flower is just beautiful. I am in the midst of trying to paint with pastel a few more florals to put up for sale in my art group's local art fair. I have rented only one panel in our booth, but hope to sell at least one or two small paintings. Your rose has inspired me! I really like your square format................Gene

Thanks Gene. I am a member of Antioch Fine Arts Foundation, Illinois and we have a         12 x 12 square format theme show. I have found that square formats also work well when grouped together.  I hope you do well in the art fair........Aruna

aruna............only one word for your rose........W O W

joy............your lilies are very nice also, they look so spontaneous and free(which I admire greatly since I have so much difficulty in being spontaneous with my work).

Would like to see more from both of you.

Thank you Myrn, I have trouble being spontaneous unless I've labeled what I'm doing as an exercise.

To whoever posted the water lilies, I love the contrast of colors between the water and the lily pads, very nice.

Lisa, Your waterlily is lovely. I particularly like the background colors against the pink colors in the foreground. Very nice. I'm glad to see you participating in this forum, too...............Gene

I'm too late I guess, I'll try to get in the next one. I think I would have painted this one though.

Alas, I can not take credit for the waterlily painting--I merely reposted it for someone who accidentally started a new thread. I'm no artist, but I do like to take photos so maybe I'll post one in response to a prompt.

By the way, this thread is now closed and it's time for another Paint-Off. For info, see the new thread I just started.

Thanks to all who posted their art. It's great to see so many people were inspired! --Lisa
