I'm very interested in artits' residencies, and I've been researching different sites. I think it would be an incredible opportunity for me, and the idea is right down my alley. The thing I'm wondering about is: What exactly should be involved in submitting a proposal for the work you plan to do? Does it need to be a formal project or just a concept? Do I need to have an idea for a project that'll take months, or can I work on different ones? I just don't exactly understand just what is required for it to be accepted. Have any suggestions?

I just got timed out of the quick reply, so will try again.
All residencies have different requirements. Most will admit you on the strenth of the work you've done, and look for quality and experience. They're rarely easy to get into. Just be honest about why you're applying and what you expect to get out of the experience. I would think that a strict proposal of work that you intend to do is necessary for a grant , not a residence.
