| I recently did a 16 x 18 charcoal sketch as a gift for my uncles birthday. I live in NE Pennsylvania and have been running around trying to have it scanned to a disc, for my files. I have a regular HP Printer/scanner at home but the bed is too small to scan anything but 8 1/2 x 11 documents and sketches. I'm now looking for a home scanner that can be used for larger pieces. Any suggestions on good art scanners, that don't require a bank loan? I'd really appreciate any suggestions. |

Hi!, Well this is probably way to late to reply, but I will give it a shot anyways. I bought a very expensive bank breaking scanner on ebay for 150.00, plus shipping, it is a workhorse and has never let me down. It does operate through the photoshop program however, and it has a bit of a learning curve, but the info is all on their website (Umax). The one I bought is the Umax Powerlook 2100xl, and it is oversized, does big scans, and will do multiple scans at the same time, which I love. So hope this helped, even though way late, take care, Diane |
