I have come across this word burnishing before but found all the instuction re this form of work very confusing. So please can someone give me some very simple instructions. Confused Edna

Edna,
I hope Bernard Poulin won't object to me quoting from his excellent book "The Complete Colored Pencil Book".
"Burnishing is a method whereby a layer of light color is blended forcefully into the pigment of previously applied colors, blending them thoroughly in the process. The valleys in the paper aare therefore completely saturated with color. The result is creamy smoothness that has a waxy look and feel."
