This is entitled "Tile People I", it is 7 x 11 pastel on 140lb cold pressed Arches paper.  These "Tile People" reveal themselves in the floor tile in my home.

This is Barbados View, 11 x 14 oil on panel.  It was a view shared with my husband on a recent vacation.

Hi, this painting is called "Red Birches". It is done in watercolour on 22 x 30 Archer's 300lb sheet. I used a variety of reds and salt crystals to get this effect. It is one of my early attempts and I enjoyed it.

This is very strange. We have a forum here with a lot of different catagories and area to show paintings and drawings and most of the people I've seen showing art have been showing for awhile. Putting themselves out there for others to see and get feedback from other artists. Now that the critics corner is open again, there are people here I've never seen before! What's up with that! Can't waste your time having other artists look at your work? What, our critiques are not worthy? Geez!! You people are a work of art! And not in a good way!!!!! Jim Loooong time member!

All the best,
Jim

Gosh, Jim, in your email of 22nd August you come over so angry.  Sit down my dear, have a cup of tea and take a few deep breaths before you do yourself an injury.

I gather you are angry with the entries posted by people you've never seen before.  Maybe you've never seen some of us before because we didn't know that the ArtistsNetwork existed until we picked it up on facebook.  And more to the point, were invited by ArtistsNetwork, through the facebook page on the internet, to take part in the Artist's Magazine Critique.

I hope it will make you feel a little happier when I tell you that I have "wasted" a lot of my time putting paintings on the ArtistsNetwork.com facepage for other artists to look at and criticise and let me have their helpful feedback.  And I have also "wasted"a lot of my time leaving feedback.  I have a very slow connection to the Internet and it can take up to an hour to post a painting, so be a little more tollerant with your comments and please bear in mind that  we are not all in a position for ease of use and instant connection on the internet.

Please visit the ArtistsNetwork.com facebook page and enjoy, and constructively criticise, all the paintings you will find there.

Have a good day.  Angela

In every situation there is an exception! From what you have explained Angela, "Mea Culpa". And to anyone else with a slow modem or came in through the back door with facebook, my apologies. Everything else stands.

All the best,
Jim

Hello Jim,
I've encountered kind and helpful people on this site, thanks for reminding me that "In every situation there is an exception" indeed! Please feel free to ignore me when you see a post from me, I won't be offended.
All the best

i have to add that i was active for a while, but seldom received comments/critiques from other members- maybe because i have been making mixed media & digital art. i think that the more active & involved we can make the community the stronger we all are. there are some great pieces posted- i've enjoyed looking through them & don't envy the person who has to choose just a few!

Very well said Marianne and it probably had more to do with the lack of traffic here than anything with your art.
Things are picking up though.
Linda, I think you missed my point, but I won't dwell on that. I have a tendency toward sarcasm.
Jim - 2681 posts, linnapoos - 43 posts. I think I've done my share of extolling the virtues and promoting the talents of many, many artists on this forum. We have some excellent artists who consistantly take the time and effort to remark and critique others work here. People who I respect. Oh and oops! I made the mistake of commenting on one of your paintings. Please disregard that tragic mistake. Did I mention I have a tendency toward sarcasm?

All the best,
Jim

All paintings posted on this thread (as well as the entire forum) are welcome and encouraged. While we hope you'll be encouraged to participate in other ways, you're certainly not required to do so.

Enjoy your art; enjoy the art of others.
