This is a painting from a photo that I too in June 2009 at Versaille in France. It was one of the charming houses in Marie Antoinette's village. It is painted in oils on a 16 x 20 canvas.

I painted this scene from my patio overlooking the lake at sunset. We are facing Northwest. The painting is oil on canvas 24 x 30. Not too much time to do a canvas of this size so I used my camera to capture the scene.

"Riley's Reflection"

As I was taking my 2 year old granddaughter across a field during a hot air balloon fest, I noticed she had stopped following me. She had stopped in front of a shiny red car and was staring into the grill of the car. I wondered what in the world she was doing. As I got closer, I realized she was admiring her reflection and making faces into the car. It was so hilarious. Fortunately I had my Kodak camera and took a quick photo of it before she stopped. I painted it later and this is the result. It was one of those "Kodak moments".
