I have just completed this pastel. I tried to keep as much detail as possible but keeping it loose at the same time. I done it from a series of photos I took while living in Kuwait. I drew a detailed pencil sketch followed by two coats of Art Spectrum clear primer using Windsor & Newton & Art Spectrum soft pastels Regards from Australia

I like the colors and the topic.
I wonder if you put the figure too much in the center of the painting. Although I like the orange color (.. a bright spot against the brown dates and blue apron) which can be seen behind his head, it looks a bit out of place..... almost hatlike. However the clothing and the dates look great.

Sometimes we paint to see more clearly or to feel more deeply.
