I would like some feedback on this painting. It was done from a photograph that I took when visiting the Biltmore Estates in N. Carolina in the fall of last year. The painting is 24 x 30 on canvas.
Since I'm a new member, I'm not sure if my picture will get through.

Hi Phil, first I must say that I am not a professional and that I can only give an opinion.
That being said, I love this painting. Your foreground is very realistic and your values throughout are very good. Love the areal perspective. I really like the contrasts in the water. The only things that bothers me is that the water seems to be flowing downhill to the left and maybe use more variety in your greens on the hills to break up the velvety smooth stylistic look of the hills on the right. Since water seeks its own level perhaps you could use more horizontal strokes to indicate a more level flow. I love the brush strokes in the water, but try using them to indicate that the water is more level. Maybe you could use some reds mixed with green on the hills to add variety. Phil, it could be my monitor is just not picking up everything. Maybe it is squinting and simplifying everything. lol. Overall this painting works well. I love the depth achieved within the midground and the overall perspective from foreground to background. I would be proud to hang this painting on my wall.
