Regarding AFTER THE STORM: I think you nailed this one, stopped me right away, lots of eye movement back and forth in the sky, good dark value in sky which is balanced in foreground, the diagonal cloud tension keeps cycling the eyes through the image. I like your limited palette and the hint of mauve in foreground and distant sky further unite the painting. Overall, it has a quiet mood that easily engages the viewer. Just as a matter of interest, is this a composite of images, how interpretive were you in the clouds, what did you edit out? Did you do studies before hand?

I enjoyed the picture as well and wonder much the same things as D. Geldart did. Would love to hear how you composed this?
Thanks for sharing... It's always a pleasure to view work that "catches" you and brings you into the painting.
Sometimes we paint to see more clearly or to feel more deeply.
