| MICHIGAN LIGHTHOUSE: An interesting subject. The foreground texture is good, but it struggles with the main focus, which happens to be almost in the middle of the painting, try another version shifting it to create more tension. The greens and blue sky are vivid, putting blue in the grass ties it in, but the monochromatic sky needs some life- a hint of green or purple. The clouds are almost there. Is that a hill beyond the bay, behind the house? If so, that is good for establishing distance but it needs some grey to distinguish it and push it back. You might also try bringing the fence line from bottom corner and up into painting, as it is, it repeats the form of the hill. |
