| Just like this one of mine did, when I painted it, The playhouse in Durban was were I went for my first movie, it had stars and an old greek balconies painted on the inside beautiful. but is not the same now. |

These are well done Richard. They must have taken you quite a while.
Yours to klippie. The detail in the archetecture is so time consuming. Well done indeed.

| Memories - it's what I paint nearly exclusively. There is an almost inexhaustable treasure of paintings in my own head - if I was just a faster painter I could really be productive. As it is - I dont get to more than about three larger ones a year. I keep making sketches all summer long - but when fall rolls around and I can get back to the easel I'm usually hot on a new sketch and start on that and all the other prelims stay in the ringbinder - for another time. Some have stayed there for 30 yearss before they suddenly turned hot again. I use some photos for details but never for subject, composition and color. Memories can't be photographed. |
