I am facilitating a seven week art workshop in an Adult Education program. Its primary goal is to give amateur artists at least two hours, during their busy week, an opportunity to paint in any media of their choice. It would be nice to devote the first 15 minutes of each class, doing a “loosing-up” art exercise that everyone can enjoy. What type of creative activities might be work with a small group?

Hmmm..Maybe drawing from imagination? Have them doodle something from the realms of their imagination, or create a character out of an everyday object (such as setting down a coffee cup and having them make a Coffee Cup Man).

I'm a cartoonist at heart, so this what I usually do to warm up. I hope this helps.
