Looking for some good art activities this weekend? The ArtistsNetwork message board is a good place to start. Here are a few current suggestions:
Photo challenge of the week: Every one or two weeks on the oil forum a member posts a photo which other members are encouraged to paint. All media are welcome. The latest challenge (I think) is a sunset seascape posted by Theriot, but you can take on older challenges, too. To find them, look for the word challenge in the thread title.
Watercolor rose participation demo: This is no ordinary demo—Pearl has included a photo, drawing diagram, list of colors, and basic instruction, so members can paint the rose themselves and post the results on the thread. Check this demo out!
All-Media Paint-Off: Here’s your chance to win a $50 gift certificate for North Light books. You have just over a week to enter the Five Objects challenge. The Spring Nonfloral challenge is still in full force.
Artist’s lounge: Too busy to paint? Take a spin in the Artists’ Lounge forum where you can strike up an art-related conversation. Recently, Grace Dobush asked, “What’s your definition of success?” Click here to post your answer.
Whatever art activities you get into, let your ArtistsNetwork friends know about them. Post a picture. Make a comment. Ask a question. Be an active member of the ArtistsNetwork community. You’ll be amazed at how the encouragement and inspiration you receive will boost your art.
