Hi folks,

I'm Jim, a beginning hobbyist in acrylics from Florida. I try to paint realistically. My work is eclectic - still lifes, landscapes, portraits. My "studio" is an easel propped on my workbench in the garage. I am here to observe and learn.

I just learned that this website is owned by F+W Media, the same folks who own Wet Canvas! I recently had a bad experience at WC, with my comments redacted and my painting posts expunged. I'm not so sure that this same thing won't happen here, seeing that the two websites are owned by the same company. Any thots on this?

Hi, although I'm not new to painting, I'm new to acrylics too and I'm really liking it. I've never had a bad experience with Wetcanvas, I find the forum very informative and the folks there helpful and friendly.

I'm a beginner as well, in that I learned to do watercolors in school but haven't done much with them through the years. Now I'm 53 and getting back to the paints! HELP! Does anyone know if I can paint watercolors over an acrylic base? I messed up on a painting and can't pick up the the error. I'd like to try to save the painting by painting over the error with white acrylic then reapplying waterpaints. Any ideas?
