| Hi - I just joined since I have been looking for a place to share issues and learn from other artists. Issues such as procrastination, artistic blocks and learning to show my work. I have been doing beadwork for over 10 years. I started out doing framed pieces of abstract art made by sewing beads and buttons onto fabric. In the last couple of years I have started doing peyote stitch beadwork over found objects, such as walking canes and rolling pins. While I have had some luck selling my pieces, I could really use some help in putting my work out there. I am somewhat computer literate - but, still have lots to learn. And, am known to freak out when faced with photoing and emailing my work (lol). If any of this sounds familiar to you I would love to hear how you have handled it. Thanks. |

Welcome redgeorgia,
Glad you've joined us.
You won't be the first new member to feel a bit nervous about posting images. I'll help in any way I can. First, if you haven't already done so, check out these two thread in the FAQs forum:
Resizing photos: Home/tabid/53/forumid/16/postid/363/view/topic/Default.aspx
Posting art: Home/tabid/53/forumid/16/postid/10033/view/topic/Default.aspx
If you still have trouble, just send the image to me as an attachment in an e-mail. Use this address: artistsnetwork@fwmedia.com . Often I can determine the problem when I have the image to work with, and it's usually something easy to fix.
Enjoy the message board!

Hi - greetings from beautiful New Zealand - and the city of Christchurch. Have just found this site and joined and look forward to some interesting conversations. I am a realistic painter - not much imagination for abstracts or anything I can't see with my eyes. Paint in oils, acrylics and now pastels / Panpastels. Have been teaching art for 10 years - started teaching folk art and now anything. I went to art college part time in Coventry, UK for 2 years and take every opportunity to attend workshops............always want to learn and try something new. I paint landscapes, flowers, animals and traditional ikons. Love a challenge. Jayne
