| As a subscriber to Artist magazine, I just discoverred this site.
I paint in oils and acrylics and sometimes delve into other media...whatever my creative "juices" choose.
I am a life-long artist....mainly my work is a hobby, although I have sold a few pieces here and there.
I have had formal training as an artist in school and college, but no art degree.
Job change and a bad economy now allows me more time to paint. So, I am seriously considering getting more "commercial" with my work. (Probably not a lot of art is selling right now, but now is the time to develope new work.)
Anyway, I am looking forward to participating on this forum! |

I also just joined. I like the format of artistsnetwork.com. It looks easier to use than Wet Canvas.com. I am a retired graphic designer and a 3rd generation of artist family. I am mainly self-taught, but had some excellant basic drawing and painting at Kansas City Art Institute. I work mainly in watercolor in a realist style but recently did an abstract commission in acrylics. I am also a gourd artist. I am a member of an artist association called Finley River Fine Artists in Ozark, MO and we have a co-op gallery. I am proud to be an Ozarks native. Looking forward to playing around with artistsnetwork.

Good to have you on the forum. I've heard from several people who find that the economic downturn gives them more time for their art. Now there's a silver lining for you! We all hope the economy turns around--and that we retain our art activities! |
