After 30 years "away" from my first love, I have just recently started painting again....it's a start in the road back to finding my creative self...in watercolors, primarily, and my desire is to paint portraits. I have started reading and following the book "The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron.....I find it intriguing....has anyone else read this book and taken her 12 week course? I would be interested in hearing your thoughts, and any advise you may give on my return to true art! Thanks

Welcome, back to eden,

Glad to hear you're coming back to painting. I haven't read Julia Cameron's book, but I know several who have. They all rave about it.

Glad to hear that you are coming back to your first love.  I also feel like I am going through a reawakening after 2 years away from my mixed media bead work.  I am reading The VanGogh Blues by Eric Maisel.  I read The Artist's Way several years ago and might re-read it just to refresh my memory.  Good luck.
