 so, i tried to locate north lite book of painting techniques and no dice i used the resist technique with guache and ink a long time ago and need to refresh can someone send me advice on this and my latest works are on artid.com/samikwest |

I'll ask the North Light editors whether they know of a book that covers the ink and gouache resist technique. In the meantime, you might try a Google search with the phrase "ink and gouache resist." I got a good number of hits with this, the first being a demo from our sister message board WetCanvas.com. Hello, samikwest,
I've heard back from the North Light editors, and they don't recall any books that include an ink and gouache technique.
In October 2009, however, Journal Spilling by Diana Trout will come out. It’s a book with a focus on art journaling for beginners, and there are a lot of wet media techniques in it, including resists with gel pen, wax paper, salt, oil pastels and so on. It's targeted more to the craft audience than to the traditional fine artist, but the editor tells me it should be a very fun and colorful book. |
