Hello!I was looking for a place to talk with other artists and found this through googling the pastel journal. I can't put a picture on right now.I have to work on getting some pictures uploaded. Iam primarily a pastel painter but enjoy working in many medias. Except for oil,I just cant seem to grasp it...and the smell.lol.

I have a two year degree in fine arts and had a wonderfull professor from the the rhode island school of design. I got a great art background from him.I've been drawing and painting all my life  and on and off since college. I'm also a full time optician so that takes up most of my time. I haven't painting much since 2002,but getting back into it again. I did two really nice pastels from the maine coast and got an honarble mention and a 3rd place for my beach meadow that I will get on very soon.Ihope people will look and critique for me. Thats one thing i liked from college was critique

I'm using old photos for referance now but I cant wait to get out and take some new pictures.Ide like to do a workshop this summer preferable in Maine ,thats something Ive never done and it looks like fun.

Ive also started a figure drawing class. This is amazing! It was hard at first but it will be an invaluable tool in improving my drawing skills. The moreIdo this class I want to draw from real life as much as I can.

Wow,well this is probably enough for an introduction. i look forward to meeting new artists and I will get some paintings on soon. Lynne
