Hope this reply gets to you ok.  I really like you neat painting og the flowers.  Great way to get the vase, by drawing half of it!  Have to try it that way myself as my halves never seem to match!!!  Thanks for the good idea, even if it is indirect!!

Hey, thanks for your input.  I have trouble getting both sides of the vase even when working with round/oval shapes too.  It's way easier when the sides of the vase are linear.  Hope to see some of your artwork soon.

Thanks! Soft was the whole point for me here as I'm usually really tight. It's from about 3 years ago and in oil on canvas. BTW, Welcome to the board. Hope to see some of your work soon.

Hi, Dr. Ruth and Pixie.
As a graphic artist I was taught to draw a vase, then draw a line down the center. Decide which side you like. Trace the favored side onto tracing paper. Erase the bad side. Flop the tracing paper and line up with the good half and trace the flopped-over paper of the vase. Hope this helps.
