Artwork will be used to create the coveted awards for the SurvivorHarbor7 Race, June 8, in Baltimore Maryland.
Art for Cure, in partnership with the ArtThread Foundation and the Active Survivors Network, invites submissions of artwork by survivors to be used to create customized awards for the SurvivorHarbor7, a unique race that was the first to include a division for survivors of illness, accidents or people living with disease that compete “head to head” and are recognized for their accomplishments. For the 5th consecutive year, winners in each race division are awarded original works of art hand made by survivors.
Art for Cure is seeking original artwork created by survivors of serious illness, accidents or people living with disease for this purpose.
A theme of "active", "activity", "outdoors", or any theme that the artist is passionate about is preferred. Up to 10 works may be submitted by a survivor.
The deadline for receipt of artwork is Thursday, June 5, 2008.
Please email artwork with the entry form to: jenniferpatrizio@artforcure.org
Submissions must be:
- Any artistic medium (painting, crayon, pen/pencil, etc) that can be created on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper that is conducive to mounting under glass. Please no noodles, buttons, rice, or other types of artwork that would create a ‘raised’ texture.
- The mounting area for the SurvivorHarbor7 award is 8.5 inches wide by 11 inches tall. The submitted artwork size can be sized 11” tall by 8.5” wide, or smaller in the portrait configuration (more tall than wide) any size smaller that fits within those proportions.
