Hi all, I stumbled across this site by researching a Cathy Johnson book and it seems like a perfect site for folks like me who paint for fun (when time allows) as well as for the pros. What I really like so far is that I don't see a lot of photoshopped art that other forums have. God bless the mess of acrylics and watercolors.

I'm looking forward to posting stuff for opinions as well as sharing my own thoughts on others work here.

I just got back from a vaca in NC where I tried watercolor pencils for the first time. We rented a house near the coast and one evening the clouds looked really strange in a good way. My youngest commented that they looked like sherbert and he was right. Later we heard there was a tornado watch for the entire area (which we thankfully avoided). I did my best to catch the colors but I'm still (very) new to the pencils. They seem like they're gonna be fun. Sorry for the somewhat wrinkled scan. I'll get better at sharing the images too.

Thanks for your time, Bill

That drawing is pretty cool, and good thing there was no tornado! I started using watercolor pencils about a two years ago (I think). Actually I had forgot I had them! I think they are really fun to use, a little hard sometimes, but still fun.
