What a neat site! Is this called blogging? If it is, it's my first experience... As you can probably tell, I'm not the most literate person when it comes to technology...
At any rate, I'm a special education teacher in PA whose original certification was in art ed. But I have tried to keep the creative side of myself alive over the years...I had my 13 year old son (who is quite a bit more advanced than I am when it comes to technology) design a web site for me. Now I know there's a way to enter the web site as a link on this message so all you would have to do to view it is click on it, but I'm not sure how that's done. So if you're interested in seeing my creations, the address is provided, but not as a link. I'd love to have you check it out!

Dink - I wouldn't be able to get my work on the web without my son's help...do you have any younger relatives who might help you out? With the internet, the young seem to be the best teachers! When you do figure out how to get it there, I'll be sure to check it out!
Beverly- I enjoyed your web site and hope I'm still going strong when I hit my 60's. My original message was from "another older newbie," but I'm only 49! I guess I had been looking at the web sites and work of some of the younger participants...Liked your portraits - always a strong interest of mine, but I complete very few of those that I begin. Also liked the factthat our site is interactive and allows for comments...I'll have to talk to my son about that!
Sorry, I forgot the name of the last person who commented on my note, but your watercolors are beautiful! Do you paint on location, from photos, or both?

sorry, Krista... I was confusing your message with another I had just visited...I actually just came back from a job interview...I might actually get a position that's half special ed and half art next year! And if you ever get to post any of your creations, I'd love to check them out !

Hello All...
I'm sort of an old newbie too (42) and just wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself and possibly make a few artist friends. My name is Christie and I'm from Southeast Minnesota. As a kid, I was always drawing and painting...to the point that my siblings would get mad because my drawings covered the frig and theirs didn't. My father's dream was for me to take my talent and get a college degree; which I did. I have a Commercial Art degree and have been working as Art Coordinator for a nationwide company. However, with college, my job, and a new family, my art got put on hold. As many of you know, when there are little ones about, the paints get put away.
So...despite my love of sketching and painting, I haven't been able to pursue that passion for the better part of 15 years. I'll blame it on getting caught up in raising my son and my 8-5 job. Now that my son is a teen, I'm bringing out the paints again.
Currently I'm in the process of converting a spare bedroom into an art studio and am quite excited about it. Then I found this site and knew I was on the right track. I've subscribed to The Artist's Magazine and have been reading and watching the videos here. They're great. It all makes me feel like a student all over again. I love it!
I'm also working on a website and hope to post it here for you all to see someday.
Hope to hear from some of you and I look forward to learning more about what I love to do.
Christie

| I would love to access your site but for some reason can't . Are you sure you have the correct listing for it? have your son check it for you. Welcome to the net! I have been messing around on here for over a year and man! There are so many things to learn! Have fun, a little frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it, a lot of fun. |

Hi, I'm also another older newbie. I'm a barber in a shop on Washington Ave. (main street Golden, Colorado. I paint a variety of subjects. I like mostly portraits. I would like to post some of my work, but don't know how. Could someone tell me how? I have a website: theartsource.com where my work is displayed. Just type my name Elizabeth Rogers in after you click the search bar. Thanks, Elizabeth |

Nice to meet you and I'm a newbie on here, painting for about 20 years and loving every moment of it. Congrats on your sales, I just paint for the fun and enjoyment of it, give most of mine to family and friends for gifts, that gives me my reward, not that this is for everyone, just my quirk.
