| Hi Kevin! Welcome! checked out your site, you've got some good work - glad to see another MAC person on board!. Saw that you posted on another thread that your're looking for workshops in figure / portrait work, domestic or international. Without blinking, I will recommend the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. They have a one month summer workshop in figure work. I've worked with some of their graduates who now teach at PAFA. If you decide to go, be prepared to work your butt off - you will be pushed to what you think are your limits and beyond, but man does it pay off. you can check it out at: www.florenceacademyofart.com I was hoping to go to the landscape workshop this summer (all sessions are the month of July), but my husband has convinced me not to go until I stabilize my income (I'm newly self employed and earn my $ as an international HR consultant). Since you are looking at studying one of the most difficult things to draw / paint, I would avoid anything that is less than a few weeks, they can only provide cursory information. you've got a good set of skills, and seem to have a basic understanding of creating form as well as anatomy - you will benefit greatly from any program that can provide you with a solid grounding in anatomy and technique. Good luck! |

Not sure if this is the right thread to post my into but here goes anyway. I'm a Newbie (just joined moments ago). I am a portraiture style artist and have found my niche in painting Indian and Southwest portraits in pastel. I hope you will take a look at my web site when you have a moment. There's some representative artwork on display. Looking forward to getting to know my fellow pastelists. John De Young http://jdeyoungsart.blogspot.com
