Hello from North Carolina. I just joined the forum and I am so pleased to find it. I am a member of a Portrait Forum and it is ONLY Portraits so this is great. I hope to find the time to post often.

I am an oil painter off and on for the past 28 years.  I paint professionally now for over 10 years. I work in the Old Master , Dutch technique. My work is realistic in style but not photo-realism. I do commissioned portraiture and others such as pets and house portraits. I am working also in pastels now and working up the nerve to offer portraits in pastel. So I will definitely be asking for input here on the forum. I first read the post here about what is professional and also the one about  " no time to paint". Since I can relate to both of these and many more posts that I have yet to read----I decided to give this a try. So--- hello to all and I am happy to be here.

Ronnie, thank you so much. I know I will like it. I am in a painting "slump" at this time and have  to get back to it. I recently moved and just can't get that " right side of the brain to work".

Thanks to both of you , rpartin and Vivian. In reply to your question Vivian, I 'm sorry but I am not familiar with Cherry Point. I just recently moved here (3 months) and still not familiar with all . I will say that I am North of Charlotte about 50 minutes. It is very nice to meet you. Where are you from?

rpartin, so you too live in NC?--which part? Thanks for the compliment on paintings. I posted one on the Oil forum here but have not completed the other one in sizing.I think the "slump" is fading. I was just so overwhelmed by moving and all. I sold my property in WV,( not through the Realtors), therefore it took a lot out of me. Then an auction to rid my stuff so not to move it all to a one story place compared to the 10 room farm house.I will survive.

It's nice to be here, both in Carolina and on the Forum.

Have a great day

Good Morning Pat---I too am from NC - but in the mountains!  It's cold here - thank goodness my studio is in my sunroom where the sun keeps me warm.  I've lived here 5 years, a native Ohion, but moved 28 times!!

For some reason I'm in a slump with my painting.  But I paint flowers mostly in oils.  I'm known for my roses.

I'd love to hear from you--

Elaine

Thanks Ron, I know I will. I lived in the same house for over 30 years.   Just need to get used to it here. I am also in Retail and trying to figure out the folks  here as to likes and dislikes in buying. (  a side-line in between my art )

Have a great day

Hi Patt,
I too am a new member. I will have to check out your website today. Good to meet other artists who also "can't find the time to paint" ..thought I was just a procrastinator. *lol*

Hi Patt I read your introduction and it sounds like you’ve had a big turn over in your life, I hope things have gotten better for you by now. I tried to look up your website (www. Pattlegg.com,) because I was interested in your description of your work, but unfortunately I could not open it up. Do you still have this website or have you changed it.
