| The US Art magazines unfairly charge a differential when purchased by Canadians. That is no longer justified given the comparative value of the currency. I propose a boycott until the art magazines come into line with the current reality. There are a few international magazines that now sell at par. It is time for the US publishers to also come into line. |

ya might have come to the wrong place to boycott an art magazine....but i hear what your saying, as i have multiple friends,artists too, that live north of us....maybe first? you should try gathering letters to bring this issue to the magazines attention... before boycotting....
most of the magazines have email now sooooo you could just have everyone concerned sign in on the letter, or just write individual ones....and its not just art magazines, living in the states, i notice those price notations all the time....and yes....if the currency now is more akin to each other it should be adjusted....i agree.. |

We got an e-mail from a person with a similar question—why are prices still higher in Canada when the currency value difference isn't as drastic as it used to be?
Just to let you know—the publisher and editorial director of The Artist's Magazine have advised our circulation department to look into the matter. Pricing is more complicated than it would at first appear, because a newsstand price involves changing bar codes. For that and other reasons, we can't make any promises of immediate change, but we assure you that our circulation department is seriously considering the issue. |
