Hi All,

I am about to begin an art project.  I will be painting a landscape scene on a 22" kick drum head.  The surface is rough and similar to parchment paper, but is a drum head so it is a durable surface.

I thought my best bet for the painting would be the medium acrylic.  Does anyone know how that would hold up as far as a drummer kicking the kick drum on a regular basis?  How durable is acrylic paint?

Thanks for any advice.

In my experience, acrylic paint alone is not very durrable. Maybe something heavier or cover it with something. Acrylic has the compacity to flake off.

You may want to look into special leather paints or something.
